Genesis of Gokul

Pujya Paramadhyaksh Sh. Mohan Jaguri

 

He is the actual Founder & Originator of Gokul & is Born and Brought up in the Religeous atmosphere of Uttarkashi District amidst of the holy place Gangotri, the Origin of pious river Ganga. He derived the sensitivity and kind heartedness to see the sufferings of needy & Special need persons residing in hilly areas from the spiritual surrounding. This made him determined to work for the benefit of them. After completion of his Post Graduation in Shastri and BE.d he was offered job of teaching. However he didn’t persue the job and left it in pursuit of counselling the deprived persons to accept and understand life as it has come to them and make the Best of the same.

 

He pursued the Path of his father who a had deep knowledge of Zyotish. His dream to do something for special need persons turned into reality when Ms Madhu Maikhuri came in contact with him. He has shown the true Lightening path to Ms. Maikhuri to perform duties towards her parents and society even in the days of sorrow and hardship, when she was so deeply depressed that she lost her will to live. He succeeded not only in saving her life but made it precious by encouraging her to live this life for the service of the needy. Thus emerged Gokul uniting the efforts of all to serve the needy souls in Uttarakhand. He is the spiritual force which makes the path of service much easier and fruitful. He imbibed deep values of honesty and Truth in the Organisation. Thus Gokul Survived many Challenges in its Journey and served genuinely and selflessly the most needy persons residing in remote area of Uttarakhand.

 

 

Ms. Madhu Maikhuri - (Secretary)

 

Gokul's genesis is related to the Polio affected personal and physical travails of Ms. Madhu Maikhuri, who herself is polio stricken. After completing Post Graduation in English literature She was working as a senior Officer in The Gramin Bank Sponsored by State Bank of India. However in the Year 1996 She had to undergo major Surgery of her both foot and Limbs to survive her life from getting bed ridden, Operated in Sanchati Institute pune. She tried to regain her strength by climbing the stairs of goddess vaishnow Devi Temple Twice But suddenly she suffered from Post Polio syndrome disease resulting in constant fatigue, extreme tiredness and giddiness. There was a time when life felt an unending journey through pain, sufferings and mental agony and She felt like ending her life. Destiny has other plans for her, motivated by her parents late Sh Gokula Nand Maikhuri & Smt. Rukmani Devi she took Recourse to Spiritualism, Yoga and Meditation under the able guidance of Pujya Sh. Mohan Jaguri, this helped her to overcome negative thoughts which ultimately gave a new meaning to her life to live for others, forgetting the post operative pain and depression and suffering of Post Polio Syndrome a dreaded disease.

 

Dr. K.H. Sancheti, her doctor from the Institute of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Pune, with exemplary courage, dedication for his profession and duty towards sufferers, instilled in her an urge and confidence to live and show a brighter path to her & fellow sufferers.

 

This was the root cause of 'Gokul's birth in Dehradun in the year 2000 ultimately culminating in formation of 'Gokul'- A Society for Special need persons with initiative & efforts to rehabilitate them. She is the most active board member. The Gokul society has been established and reached to the present leval just because of her determination & struggles after a lot of ups and downs. She worked so hard even in all kinds of odd situations, which can’t be explained in words. Her positive attitude under the able guidance of Pujya Shri Mohan Jaguri Flourished in joy amid sorrow and pain and motivated her to enlighten the path of fellow sufferers. She devoted her energies for the same. Currently she is serving as Senior Manager in Uttarakhand Gramin Bank.
