Health Awareness Camp | 9 December 2000

As part of Gokul’s journey of service, an important Health Awareness Camp was organized on 9 December 2000 in collaboration with Gaurav Hotel, Dehradun.

On this occasion, Shri Mohan Jaguri Ji, President of Gokul, shared inspiring and thoughtful words encouraging society to create a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for persons with disabilities. His vision and message became one of the emotional foundations that continued to inspire Gokul’s service initiatives in the years that followed.

The camp featured special lectures by renowned orthopaedic and neurological specialists from Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals and VIMHANS Hospital, New Delhi. The programme aimed to create awareness about bone, nerve, and other health-related conditions, while providing the community with access to valuable information and guidance from specialist doctors.

Dr. Shamsher Dwivedi, Senior Neurologist at VIMHANS Hospital, New Delhi, shared important information on the prevention, management, and treatment of neurological disorders. He is currently serving as Director, Neurology, at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dehradun.

Dr. Subhash Shalya, who was then associated with Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, as a Senior Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon, delivered an informative session highlighting the importance of a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise, and preventive healthcare.

The programme was further enriched by the participation of Dr. Beenu Kathuria, Physiotherapist, Therapy Point, New Delhi; Dr. Sudha Atre, Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan; and several other distinguished guests and healthcare professionals. They addressed the gathering on important issues related to health, rehabilitation, and public awareness.

The Health Awareness Camp was an important step towards building a healthier and more aware society, bringing together medical knowledge, community awareness, expert guidance, and the spirit of service.

It marked an early and meaningful milestone in Gokul’s continuing commitment to healthcare, rehabilitation, awareness, and the dignity and well-being of persons with disabilities.
