Free Medical Camp | 10 December 2000

As part of Gokul’s continuing journey of service, a special Free Medical Camp was organized on 10 December 2000 at 501, Field Survey, Dehradun.

The camp was inaugurated by Shri Nityanand Swami Ji, the then Chief Minister of Uttaranchal. The event was also graced by distinguished guests, including Shri Ashok Saran Ji, the then DGP of Uttaranchal; Shri Vinod Chamoli Ji, former Chairman, Dehradun Municipal Board; and Shri Harish Chandra Juyal Ji, Joint Secretary, Government of India.

A team of specialist doctors from Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals and VIMHANS Hospital, New Delhi, provided free medical consultations and examinations to more than 800 patients who had travelled from distant and remote areas seeking medical assistance.

The team of medical specialists included Dr. Subhash Shalya, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, and Dr. Shamsher Dwivedi, Senior Neurologist, VIMHANS Hospital, New Delhi, along with other specialist doctors.

As part of the camp, patients were provided with free medicines, X-ray examinations, and ultrasound facilities. In addition, essential mobility and assistive equipment were distributed to persons with disabilities in need, including 44 tricycles, 20 wheelchairs, and 20 pairs of crutches.

The camp was a significant initiative bringing together medical expertise, humanitarian service, and community support. It remains an inspiring milestone in Gokul’s journey of service and reflects its continued commitment to improving access to healthcare and rehabilitation for underserved communities and persons with disabilities.
